The Inception

A
White Feather in quest for flight ventured to soar the firmament of the largest
film industry in the world in 2001. The wunderkinds of Bollywood in the nineties--
Sanjay Dutt, the superstar and Sanjay Gupta, the raconteur, joined hands together
to form White Feather Films, to chart out hitherto unknown territories in the
realm of Hindi cinema and redefine the concept of entertainment with élan,
flourish and bravura. The combined passion to create 'out of the box cinema'
resulted in the launch of this new film company. The first production of the
company, Kaante has been hailed as a path-breaking Indian film and received innumerable
accolades from a wide cross section.
The Journey
Seven years down the line by 2007, this company has the distinction of creating
its own niche having produced a string of critically acclaimed and commercially
successful films like Kaante, Musafir, Plan, Zinda, Shootout At Lokhandwala and
Dus Kahaniyan. Each film has been distinct its flavour and has the White Feather
stamp of being gritty, cutting edge and techno savvy --- the perfect combo of
content complemented by great pizzazz.
Where We Stand

In
2008, WFF has a Red Feather. WFF launched White Feather Art-House Films deciding
to produce films that pushed the envelope further, rich in content and meant
for the discerning cineaste who craved for more than the regular Bollywood formula.
Donning his cap as a producer, Sanjay Gupta braved the odds to produce Pankh
and The Great Indian Butterfly, two films that otherwise would never see light
of day in mainstream markets. Defying the standard cliché of boring staid
so called art films, these films have the potential to reach out to wider audiences
both in India as well as in the International circuit. These films showcase the
best of auteur driven cinema.
2008 is the most exciting year for this film company. White Feather Films have
two ready to release commercial blockbusters – Woodstock Villa, a tribute
to film noir, Alibaug, an elegiac ode to friendship and loss and Acid Factory,
the mother of all thrillers. The Art- House division is ready with The Great
Indian Butterfly (the film has already done the rounds of major international
film festivals) and Pankh (in post-production stages and is about to jump into
the international arena). The Company has six films lined up for production this
year and several other co-productions in India as well as the International arena.
The Company has also launched White Feather Film Tools as yet another sister
concern that supports our content with hardware support. We have the state of
the production facilities including cameras and other equipments, post production
facilities of edit suites and sound studios. We are building our own shooting
facilities Studio that will be functional by end 2008.
It was also an emotional year as one of our beloved co-founders, Sanjay Dutt
bid farewell to the company to revive his father, Late Shri Sunil Dutt’s
banner, Ajanta Arts & start his own production company, Sanjay Dutt Productions.
The Future
The future definitely belongs to us is the motto and mantra shared by all the
film makers who belong to the White Feather Family. We have the wherewithal to
realize the dreams as people from the industry believe in and support our endeavour
whole-heartedly.
The Legacy
The White Feather Family constitute of film makers who had to struggle to find
their feet under the sun. We firmly believe in nurturing young talent and open
up avenues for our peers and fresh talent. If cinema is vital to your existence
do come to us. We will help realize that dream.
Though we have grown to become a force to reckon with, we float as lightly as
mere feathers. We are facilitators for fresh talent. And do so with great hurrah
that is about us.
